Letter from Bishop Thomas I. Letters
Description
A few lines full of important reports from the Hungarian Bishop Thomas of the city of Erlau.
Text
My good friend,
I hope this letter finds you in good health, and I bless you and your wife Agnieszka. I have just returned from Gran, where the gracious Archbishop Jan Kanižský informed me of the will of His Holiness Pope Boniface IX to support the legitimate claims of Ladislaus of Naples, who by his father is the rightful heir to the Hungarian crown. You know well how the imperial interests of your esteemed cousin overly strain the treasury while failing to provide the guarantees we need against the Ottoman threat in the south.
Signed in Erlau A.D. 1403 on the third day before the Ides of May
Thomas Ludanicz, Bishop of Eger
