It’s also good practice to know any weapons ones units are wielding, so here’s the statistics we’ll be covering with every Axe in Fire Emblem Engage:

Be aware of Weapon type weaknesses when using every Axe in !Fire Emblem Engage. Axes don’t mix well with Swords.
Every Axe In Fire Emblem Engage¶
Whilst Axes are great against Lances, they can be routed by Swords just as easily. Even for units with the strongest Axe on the battlefield, they’ll still struggle against a Sword unit. It’s not so much the worry of dealing little damage to an opponent, but the risk of suffering a Break and reducing the opportunity for players to deal damage outside of their turn.
Unfortunately for Axe units, there’s a damn sight more Sword than Axes, making the chances of being in a tight spot against a Sword unit more likely. This goes to show how important it is to make sure units are correctly positioned and focused on enemy units that will provide an advantage for players. The best use of an Axe unit would be against Lance users, which are usually flying and heavily armored opponents but may vary. A good pairing against a flying Lance unit for example would be an Axe and Bow unit, considering the melee weapon advantage and Bows dealing greater damage to flying units.
Use this information to place Axe units on the battlefield. Getting an Axe attack in on Lance users puts players in good stead to cause a break, making opponent scrambling to recover and unable to pull off a counter attack.
